Event 129, amd_sata Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued.
I have this event in event veiwer and i havent noticed anything out of the ordinary currently Regardless of my computer having some other issues currently. I have read some forums and some of the microsoft forums are saying that it is not a microsoft issue (hope my post helps direct those who dont know that if that is the case) I am wondering if having the storage controllers enabled are throwing up this warning? and so i am wondering if someone that mabye knows a little more about this area of expertise can help me?, I have not in any way intended to have a raid configuration and so should the JMicron JMB36X Controllers be disabled bios and device manger? or the Asus BOT Storage controller? the closest i have seen to this issue has been this link: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1517254 can someone help me understand what the JMicron JMB36X is for and what it does?, what the Asus BOT Storage controller is for and what it does?, and help me figure out why i am getting this Event 129, amd_sata warning? and does it have to with the storage controllers? I have noticed ALOT of people with this warning and so help will be appreciated. Windows 7 Professional x64

Hi, Please changed the SATA driver from the amd_sata to the generic windows 7 AHCI driver for a test. 1. Go to Device Manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers -> SATA Driver. 2. Choose "Update Driver" -> "Browse my computer for Driver Software" -> "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" and then choose the "Standard AHCI 1.0" driver. Thankyou for responsing Niki, I will try that. In addition to the entire post here i got and error this morning: Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 7/23/2012 6:42:20 AM Event ID: 7026 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Bill-PC-1 Description: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: JRAID Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Service Control Manager" Guid="{555908d1-a6d7-4695-8e1e-26931d2012f4}" EventSourceName="Service Control Manager" /> <EventID Qualifiers="49152">7026</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8080000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2012-07-23T11:42:20.210062800Z" /> <EventRecordID>18365</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="748" ThreadID="752" /> <Channel>System</Channel> <Computer>Bill-PC-1</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data Name="param1"> JRAID</Data> </EventData> </Event> And so i have tried this; Device manger>Storage controllers> disabled both Jmb36x and then went into the Bios and disabled the Jmb controller. and i am going to see that works. I have been getting these errors and warnings every other logon and so bear with me please.

Jraid.sys is part of JMicron JMB36X RAID Driver developed by JMicron Technology. The event log means if a device is not working properly, its driver fails to load when Windows starts. If you don't configure RAID, you can disable these controllers. Meanwhile, please update the BIOS, chipset, controller driver from computer manufacturer's website manually for a test. For other people that might be seeing this error on an Asus motherboard. I too was receiving the amd_sata "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued" error along with long delays in my Windows Media Center when I would try to play recordings. But I did not have JMicron JRaid anything in device manager. Turned out this tip: >> Please changed the SATA driver from the amd_sata to the generic windows 7 AHCI driver for a test. actually helped solve the problem. Once I switched from amd_sata to generic AHCI driver, I still experienced the hang but this time the error was "atapi the driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort5" This helped clue me in and it turns out after running some disk diagnostics (Western Digital utilities) the hard drive was failing and this was the source of all the errors.
